Branicki Palace history is very interesting. Originally, in the sixteenth century, the palace was fortified castle built by the family Wiesiołowskis - then owners of Bialystok. The biggest rise of the palace and gardens surrounding the mansion fell under the rule of the Branicki in Bialystok. In the 90s Stephen Nicholas seventeenth century Branicki began reconstruction of the castle into a Baroque palace. His son - John Clement Branicki continued expansion of the residence for another fifty years. At that time, both the palace and beautiful gardens around the city itself as well as Białystok character gained so beautiful that place is hailed as Polish Versailles. History involves periods of prosperity and decline. This was also the case Branicki residence. After the death of John Clement Branicki palace was sold and during the annexation was to be a summer residence of the Tsars, but the Institute was founded in Noble Maidens, which meant that the palace lost its residential character. Today, the Palace has established its rector of the Medical University, and the city has been working steadily in Residence Renovation Branicki.
