I've only seen one of these. Many years ago. I got a good photo of it. Discovered what it really was a couple years later. Quite beautiful... especially for a fungus! ;-)

Fly Agaric.... certain nomads would follow their reindeer around to collect their urine after the reindeer ate these... for the hallucinogenic properties gleaned from this mushroom. Unfortunately, eating this mushroom can not only produce hallucinogenic effects, but can also very badly damage the liver. Better to use it as a fly-trap (cut pieces up and let them ferment in water and watch flies come to their deaths)... :)
