The light has not quite reached this old victorian farm.

The light quality and the picture framing have a lot to be desired in this photo. I'm not sure what people were voting on here. Be a little more conscience of the quality of the photo when you vote! Some photos don't deserve a 10 or 9 when you vote if there's nothing of quality in the photo!

Where does your ability to constructively critique come from? May I remind you that this is a weather site not a photography site...so if your not saying something nice, don't say anything at all. And as for the photo not having any quality aspects, that depends on your connection to farming and even the midwest. To many people this may have a strong connection that brings to mind positive memories. I for one have a deep feel for victorian farms. The tones in photo reflect early morning before light has fallen upon the scene. Yeah, it's not the prettiest scene, but it does have a story. And art is in the eyes of the beholder and how it makes them feel. I suggest if you want to critique art go to a site where that is encouraged.

Thanks, Vicki France

Interesting, interesting. I see an entire story here in the photo.  One single light on in the house, early morning, no light on in the milkhouse yet.  I see one cold morning, I can visualize steam from the cows' bodies, and from the farmers' breath. I can visualize coffee in the kitchen and probably some cornflakes, but if lucky, hot eggs and toast. And coat and boots.

So much like the dairy farm country in New York State where I grew up. Thanks for sharing.

About Vicki
A self-taught photographer that was taught to see the beauty of this place I call home and to tread upon it lightly. I consider myself lucky to have grown up among the towering bluffs that surround the Wisconsin and Kickapoo Rivers. My favorite past-time has always been getting lost in the wooded hills and valleys of southwest Wisconsin. I have always wanted to share what I saw and felt in these places and photography opened that door. I work hard to capture the essence and emotion that come over me when I visit these places. Please enjoy my state.Vicki France
