Memo's Fawn

Uploaded by: TomsPhotoandmem

Monday May 27, 2013

Rogers, AR (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Memo left her new fawn here in the yard and in the same exact spot for close to 5 hours and then returned and ate some food at the feed station in my yard and also chased 2 bucks all around the field beside my house. And then came back by where she left her fawn and then chased a Raccoon off before returning to her fawn and cleaning and feeding it. While feeding the dogs were watching and Memo the deer I raised didn't mind.

just a reply to AmishMafia...

Tom didn't "tame" Memo, he saved her life when she was lost and abandoned, raised her and then released her into the wild, where she is making her own way in the world and now has a mate and a fawn. She only stops by to visit her old friend...

Thanks on all the complements, yes all those wonderful comments have warmed my soul through out. It all began on Memorial day weekend 3 years ago when a friend found Memo almost dead, and with a mixture of goats milk and yogurt, Memo began her life with me. And this Memorial day weekend she brings her new born fawn to meet me and then trusts me as she leaves and leaves her fawn behind for me to watch over for her. Thanks again on all the great complements.

If only I could spend more time in the country and have "pets". You have the chance to take great Pix like this with the animals acting naturally. Congrats and 10 from SW Iowa

You and Memo have a deep bond of love that is truly amazing. And for her to leave the fawn in your care for those hours, shows the trust that she has in you. The love you have given is coming back to you multiplied. We're going to have to start calling you St.Tom-Francis LOL. I have followed the story of you and Memo from the beginning and thank you for sharing with us. You have more years of work ahead of you...

Tom, your story leaves me speechless and with tears in my eyes...I have followed it from the beginning. Discovery Channel should make a documentary about Memo.
