The National Guard did show up here a couple of days ago to help. I have said the same thing about needed pipe lines from east to west to take care of 2 problems at once. :)

Beauty and the Fire Beast!

I would certainly be terrified in a situation like you are watching and living.

Does the National Guard help in these situations? There's flooding in Michigan. Wish there were water pipelines or trucks that could be driven to help put these fires out. I've seen helicopters picking up water in lakes or wherever to help and of course the courageous fire fighters get out there.

We need more solutions. Take care.

Thanks you guys. Our fire benefited form the winds coming from the south last night, in that it pushed it back into itself and into areas it already has burned. Two other fires didn't fare as well with the wind direction and mass evacuations ensued. Terrifying stuff.

As sad as your fire situation is, this is a fantastic Pyrocumulus cloud , also called a fire cloud, because it is associated with fire or volcanic activity and produced by the intense heating of the air.
Terrific shot, Lori!
CONGRATULATIONS on your AC !!!
