Rocky Mountain National Park, CO (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: I was at home, then realized how clear it was. So I decided to go up to Rocky Mountain National Park to get some star pictures. This was taken on the north end of Bear Lake. The mountain lit by ambient moonlight, is Longs Peak (14,259'). It was quite disturbing to be all alone at the end of a lake, in the middle of nowhere, late at night, and sometimes hear a twig snap, or some other sound from out of the darkness. But it was worth it!!

Very impressive! It's a beautiful place in daylight and now I can see that it's just as beautiful at night. Thanks!

I'd give it a 10 even without the reflection in the lake! Awesome. Wish I'd been there.

This is THE perfect 10! Kudos on going to the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night. It certainly paid off.

What a gorgeous photograph. Looks like something you'd see in a Sky and Telescope magazine. Incredible.
