Forest Grove, Oregon, is located about 22 miles west of Portland. Situated at the base of the Coast Range in the Tualatin Valley, the town receives about 45 inches of precipitation each year, mostly falling as rain between October 1st and June 1st. Summers are typically dry, with low humidity. The climate is moderated by the Pacific Ocean, with frequent cloudiness and temperatures that rarely go below 14 F/ -10 C or above 86 F/ 30 C. Laurel, a nearby location in the Coast Range, received a state record 204"/5,182 mm of precipitation in one year (1996) and a record 49.59"/1,260 mm. in a single month (11/2006). You've got to appreciate rain and clouds if you're living in the Pacific Northwest. When my frequent urge to travel has to be satisfied at home, I visit WeatherUnderground. Thanks to all who submit photos from around the world--and I always appreciate messages! Create your own visitor map! Louisiana Jones Act Counter |
