I do not recall ever having this butterfly in my garden. I have no idea what she is. I do know that Monarchs visit this area for a few days in the Fall when they migrate South. Can anyone identify it?

Pretty and you were able to get a shot with wings wide open on top side. I am thinking this is the one that was posted earlier today as painted lady....the underside looks like an entire different design to me and then with wings open looks like yours...sometimes you can get a bit of both in photo...very pretty.

I think it is a Painted Lady, too. If you can get a shot with its wings folded up, it should had 4 eye-spots on its lower wings. Very nice!
