Eugene, OR (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: My dogs had a wonderful time playing in the big snow here In eugene. They predicted an inch or so, we are close to 8 now! It's going to stay cold so it will be here for a while. I have not seen a snow this big outside of skiing since I was a kid.

Ruby is 10, Jazzy is 7 and Fluke is 3. Ruby is slowing down, arthritis and having trouble keeping her weight down. It was good to see her run and play!

So you still have Ruby & Jasper. How old are they now? They must keep your household hopping!

About Olbetsy

Olbetsy

I am somewhat new to photography. I began with a free point and shoot that came with a computer. It was so much fun, I purchased a SLR camera in 2006 and the hobby swiftly took hold. My camera gets me out and about and has enhanced all my senses finding what this world has to offer. I am also a quilt artist and I use my photography to help me understand color and form that can transfer into quilt art. I am an active member of Emerald Photographic Society and was honored as most promising photographer in 2007 and photographer of the year in 2008. I have recently had images published in National Geographic, the National Wildlife refuge library and National Wildlife Federation Magazine. The contributors to my success are; I carry my camera (s) with me most of the time and I have an Itinerate job which takes me all over rural Linn County Oregon. Many of the photos I post here were shot on a lunch break or from my car window when somethings catches my eye. I am not a person with the patience to set up the perfect photo, instead I bank on spontaneity. I anticipate everything but expect nothing. I look for the big picture though often find a closer focus once I stop and look. Weather is the most important element of outdoor photography. I watch the clouds, temperature, lighting and seasonal changes. Most importantly I have grown to appreciate fellow photographers for insights, tips and all around friendship as much as the hobby itself. I love to see through the eyes of others and WU is a favorite place to visit. I am inspired by the talent found here and have a never ending itch to travel and learn!
