Betsy, you have captured the Redwoods better than any photo I have seen here. Very competent HDR work. You used it so well to bring the trees to life. I will gaze and gaze!
10+++ (I virtually never give 3+, but this deserves it.)

Thank you very much, the redwoods were magical. It is impossible to capture the true grandeur in a photo. I took lots but settled on this as my favorite. It is a popular place so when My husband and I took this walk, we were not met by another person, was truly amazing and special.

Terrific shot, Betsy.

Looks almost 3-D and I could just
walk right in and take a stroll.

Congratulations on your AC.

About Olbetsy

Olbetsy

I am somewhat new to photography. I began with a free point and shoot that came with a computer. It was so much fun, I purchased a SLR camera in 2006 and the hobby swiftly took hold. My camera gets me out and about and has enhanced all my senses finding what this world has to offer. I am also a quilt artist and I use my photography to help me understand color and form that can transfer into quilt art. I am an active member of Emerald Photographic Society and was honored as most promising photographer in 2007 and photographer of the year in 2008. I have recently had images published in National Geographic, the National Wildlife refuge library and National Wildlife Federation Magazine. The contributors to my success are; I carry my camera (s) with me most of the time and I have an Itinerate job which takes me all over rural Linn County Oregon. Many of the photos I post here were shot on a lunch break or from my car window when somethings catches my eye. I am not a person with the patience to set up the perfect photo, instead I bank on spontaneity. I anticipate everything but expect nothing. I look for the big picture though often find a closer focus once I stop and look. Weather is the most important element of outdoor photography. I watch the clouds, temperature, lighting and seasonal changes. Most importantly I have grown to appreciate fellow photographers for insights, tips and all around friendship as much as the hobby itself. I love to see through the eyes of others and WU is a favorite place to visit. I am inspired by the talent found here and have a never ending itch to travel and learn!
