More like rays than a pillar. You would have had a kick out of Mindie and I with our first attempt at lightning, Right there in the park we saw the storm moving in so we had our cameras set like we read-slow shutter speed. The first bolt hit so close it whited out our entire screens and scared the begeebers out of us. Decided it is better to try distant storms, not the ones right on top of us!

Looks like you almost had a sun pillar here. Me too. I think I might have had a slightly better view than you had. Still it was nice. I am going to hope for another tonight. Or even better, lightning!

About Nikongranny

Nikongranny

Old, retired with lots of time on my hands and a Nikon. Lucky for me, there is a park just north of town that provides me with migrating birds and sunsets. Since joining this site, I have a new appreciation for this scenic world we live in. I especially love the comments from so many great people on here.
