Shenandoah, IA (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Stupid people dumped tame ducks in Rapp Park and expected them to survive. One died and this one was chewed up over night. I expected it to be dead today, but it was very much alive and enjoying a big meal brought out by Bob and Mindie. It didn't like the flavored crackers we tossed out.

It seems to be doing well since ole Granny and BEME have been stopping by with "chow" each evening. Mindie tells me it was all over her when she fed it last night. It doesn't pay as much attention to me since I only threw out feed, but Mindie lets it eat out of her hand. It's terrible head wounds are healing.

Some folks just don't get it! Living in a rural area we have folks who dump cats, sometimes small kittens. Once they even dumped a pot-bellied pig!
Great shot and I hope your helping hand can get this guy over the hump!

About Nikongranny

Nikongranny

Old, retired with lots of time on my hands and a Nikon. Lucky for me, there is a park just north of town that provides me with migrating birds and sunsets. Since joining this site, I have a new appreciation for this scenic world we live in. I especially love the comments from so many great people on here.
