I just violated that rule myself tonight. The sky was clouded and didn't see any chance of more color so we left the nice reflective surface of the pond and as we were driving through town that red glow started and we drove out of town to get a look, too late to get a good view, just grabbed what we could and repeated "Larry's Rule!" Don't leave until we need a flashlight to find the car. Can't count the number of evenings we followed that rule and nothing happened.

You definetly had a better angle on this than I did. My friend stayed out a bit later and was rewarded with a very nice afterglow, which I missed because I violated my first rule of sunset photography "Never leave until you need a flashlight to find your way back to the car".

About Nikongranny

Nikongranny

Old, retired with lots of time on my hands and a Nikon. Lucky for me, there is a park just north of town that provides me with migrating birds and sunsets. Since joining this site, I have a new appreciation for this scenic world we live in. I especially love the comments from so many great people on here.
