LOL! I went out to the desert to take some shots of the clouds & had my dog with me, so I had to keep telling her to sit to keep her away from the spider & every time I did this Tarantula reacted!

Funny Ivan that's what I said when I saw this critter!! LOL

Arlene - I cant stand spiders either! I wasn't sure what kind it was, so I figured the best way to find out was to get some shots - this is the first Tarantula I have seen here in the 12 years I have lived in the Mojave Desert!!

About MojaveDesertRat
MojaveDesertRat Hi, I'm Kelley - my family & I live in the Mojave Desert, we moved here in June of 2000, from Socorro, New Mexico when my husband graduated from college. We have lived in the desert for 16 years now, which is why I chose the nickname MojaveDesertRat. I actually grew up in Overland Park, KS, but truly love living in the desert. It is much better for my lungs.... I have always been interested in photography and when digital cameras came out, my interest in photography grew. I am mostly self-taught & am learning new things all the time! I take a photos at/for our church, of my kids & their friends & especially love taking pictures of clouds & nature! My camera pretty much goes everywhere I go, my nickname at church is "Camera Girl" or "Picture Lady" by all the kids!! I really enjoy looking at everyone's photos here on WU, esp those that I still haven't figured out how to take - like lightening shots! It is so awesome to see the beauty of Gods creations through the eyes of everyone on here, at times it feels like a personally guided tour through different parts of the world!! My son has also caught the photography bug & is the photo editor for yearbook this year - his Sr year in high school. He can do some amazing things with his camera. We have done a couple of photo shoots together, taking pics of some of his friends for Sr pics & musicians websites. Thanks everyone for looking at my photos! By the way - I never load just one at a time - do any of us? It's so hard to narrow them down to 1 (or 10 for that matter) when you take 200 in one shoot!! LOL If you have hints for me, they would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to your advice & comments on my other pictures that don't get seen in the regular gallery.
