Whilst heading home from work today the Sun was setting due West of me and lit up these low lying cumulus....we are finally receiving some much needed rain and even snow at higher elevations after over 103 days of absolutely zero measurable precipitation. I don't know if I have ever been so happy to see clouds in recent memory; these were back lit by the setting Sun!

I always have really loved that High elevation desert....used to cruise out in the Black Rock...on horseback...and did most of my initial flight instruction over it; that's great country...all the seasons....in the Springtime with the flowers called "Squaw Carpet"...I would fly low and slow and open up the cockpit windows to catch the fragrance of the desert flowers in bloom....
