Keyes, OK (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Actually she was carefully selecting twigs for nest building in the Locust Tree above. I am surprised to see this activity at this point in the summer. However, I don't know much about Doves. Her chosen site is right over the millet and sunflower feeders, so maybe it's about location, location, location. :)

Fantastic capture, Linda !
Really does look like a peace offering - but she`s more than likely working on her new nest !

I love your sweet eloquence, Katy. Thank you for your most WONDERFUL comments! It is always a joy to hear from you. Yes, I bet that's it. We have had very hard winds, almost daily, for the past few weeks. So perhaps she has had to start over. This nest is holding well and growing.

Oh this is so beautiful, so charming! What a crisp, clean capture!

I love how you don't over-saturate your photos, natural is the most beautiful.

Perhaps she lost her first 'clutch' to bad weather or predators?

Thanks bunches, Gale, Springsun (Thank you for making it a favorite!!) Delana, Wanda, Steve, Charlotte and Tim for your Wunderful comments, visits and ratings. I appreciate each of you greatly!

Steve, it's just a twig from a dried up weed. Just couldn't resist the title what with the Dove of peace symbolism and the way she was carrying it.

Maybe that is what she's up to, Tim. We've had hard winds for a couple of weeks now. :)

GREAT shot Linda ! I'm seeing alot of this activity around my place as well . I'm starting to wonder if they're building nests or helping in the clean up effort from all the storms that have hit the nation's mid-section . 10 on photo :)
