thanks for the more detailed information..seasprite... I was a visitor, and spoke in general terms.. as I wasn't entirely sure of the exact direction.. knew that Yellowstone was indeed in that direction.. merry Holidays to yuo as well :)

From the location of Montana State University and the Field House, those would be the Spanish Peaks in the distance, which are SW of Bozeman :)

Neither Montana nor Wyoming (where most of Yellowstone National Park is located) has a range of mountains called the Yellowstone Mountains.
