The Army Corp of Engineers maintains the water level in the river. Often in the late winter, they have it set very low so that the spring thaw won't cause flooding. Having said that we are behind on rain, but not enough to effect the river level. In other seasons this area can be under 5 feet of water.

I took about 50 photos at this location experimenting with various compositions. I would like to claim credit for the eagle but...

About LarryD

I really enjoy this site. The wonderful photos I see here never cease to amaze, and inspire me. I look forward to reading the comments on my photos. I am inordinately pleased when I am awarded an Approvers Choice. I use Nikon equipment and am especially fond of macro photography. I continue to be astounded by the beauty in the miniature world visible though my lens. Additionally, I rarely have to venture very far to find interesting subjects. The Henry Doorly zoo is my favorite location. If you get to Omaha Nebraska. I highly recommend you spend some time at the zoo with your camera. Larry
