Nice one, Larry. One of these days I will get out of a warm car to try to get a clever shot like this, but not from that position. Maybe I'll trip Mike and while he is on the ground, I'll hand him the camera. LOL Congrats on a clever catch and 10 from SW Iowa

I was waiting for someone to ask that question. This is a corner of a block of ice (about 5 feet square) that got pushed up at an angle from the surface of the river. Yes this is a macro shot. I was laying on my belly one or two feet from the ice, which was protruding above the surface about 6 or 8 inches.

Beautiful capture of light, texture, color.
So, is this a macro shot? How big is your iceburg?

About LarryD

I really enjoy this site. The wonderful photos I see here never cease to amaze, and inspire me. I look forward to reading the comments on my photos. I am inordinately pleased when I am awarded an Approvers Choice. I use Nikon equipment and am especially fond of macro photography. I continue to be astounded by the beauty in the miniature world visible though my lens. Additionally, I rarely have to venture very far to find interesting subjects. The Henry Doorly zoo is my favorite location. If you get to Omaha Nebraska. I highly recommend you spend some time at the zoo with your camera. Larry
