Ksawerów, Poland

Caption: Tonight we had an intense ice storm. Everything is covered with ice 0,5 cm (0,2 inch) thick. In the morning our area had orange (medium) level icing warning. Now in the evening it has changed to maximum red level warning, it's going to continue raining with temperatures below freezing. This white stuff on the ground is not a snow - it's ice.

Thanks Katy, Eileen and Heidrun for your comments! Well, I had to drive that day. It was interesting experience despite it was difficult to stay on the road.

Thanks! After two days of freezing rain everything is covered with really thick layer of ice and road conditions are very difficult, driving a car is quite an experience, walking on foot is almost impossible. But fortunately the rain will stop falling today in the evening.

Thanks! It is a 2nd ice storm that I remember. Last one was in January 2010 but it was lighter, it lasted one night then. This one lasted yesterday night, whole day today, and probably will last till Wednesday morning.
