bbend, actually the bridge connects the upper peninsula to the lower peninsula, or vice-versa. Still have to take a ferry to the island. Will always be that way. That's part of the charm.

Thanks for the memory. Went to the island in 1952 and it was all ferries then - no bridge. I love the area and especially the island. AB
