Lady in waiting

Uploaded by: Granddad

Sunday October 9, 2011

Kalamata, Greece

Caption: This lantana bush near our house is a sure-fire attraction for butterflies and anything else with a taste for pollen. This Painted Lady butterfly was posed so beautifully that I couldn't resist taking her portrait, even though she had her mouth full.

Butterflies are difficult at best but you also added the pretty Lantana all in focus. Lantanas grow wild in Florida but we paid money for ours here in Arizona. The rabbits love them and trim them down to almost nothing. Our best to you and Jane. ac

About Granddad

Granddad

We are English, (except our dogs, who are definitely very Greek, having been abandoned strays who took us in out of the kindness of their hearts). We retired to Greece in 2003 to escape the phoney political correctness endemic throughout the Anglo-Saxon world and to mix with some real people again. We live in the Exo-Mani in the extreme South of the Peloponnesus, where the sea and countryside are beautiful and the weather is also less political (i.e. they don't tax sunshine yet). The site provides an opportunity for us to bore the whole world with our snapshots and for which we are duly grateful.
