This is on The Chief Peguis Trail Heidrun; about a half Kilometer from my home, so it's not that long a walk.

The Red River has broken through long before this for the last several years Shirley; maybe it'll go in the next couple of days.

Even though I have never been in the vicinity of Winnipeg nor North America, I some how know how Winnipeg looks like and the nice seasonal contrasts thanks to your photos over the years! Great photo by the way!

Usually we have signs of budding by this time Jim; this season it will likely be May before the first buds show!

Can see why this is your favorite view ! It`s gorgeous !
Once the ice and snow further upriver melt, the water level will surely rise !

Nice capture of beautifully melting iced
over river - such rich shades of blue and
white. Thank you for sharing the beauty!

One of my favorite spots Wanda: looking out from the Chief Peguis Bridge, towards the old abandoned Bergen railway bridge!
Do you notice that the ice is buckled downwards in the middle of The Red River?
