Growing up in east Texas, my grandmother would say "Sun shining and it's raining, the devil's whipping his wife." Same sentiment, but I like the alliteration at the end.

Thanks for sharing ... makes me homesick for the Columbia Gorge area. I would give anything for just one rainy day. Too much sun here in Fresno.

Thank you Wanda1948, nanapoo, ruralartist, and MRSJAAK. When I was growing up in rural TN, every time it rained and the sun was out, my Mother would say,"The devil's beating his wife." It was just something that stuck with me all these years. :)

I never heard that phrase either. My grandmother used to say if it was raining and the sun was shining, it would rain at that same time tomorrow.
Love the photo!!

About Enybelle

Greetings WunderPhoto Friends! I've been lurking about on this site for several years and finally decided it was time to join. I just got a new camera - Nikon CoolPix L110. It's a big step for me to go from what I called a idiot proof camera to this one. It's an awesome journey of discovery! My husband and I love the outdoors and live in the Cascades of SW Washington. I've learned (through a very hard lesson of some incredibly missed shots) to never leave home without my camera!
