I think the coloring is due to the low light where
the iris was located. I tried later in the day to re-do
the shot, but by then the sun was fully on it and
it was just way too bright. I'll keep trying.

Thanks, Kat, for looking and writing.

Oh, Julia, I can see why you would look forward to
these beauties every year. Like Katy, I don't think
I've ever seen one this color before. I love the
dark-on-light pattern. A little work of art!

Such a lovely wildflower and so beautifully photographed, Julia. I had no idea they grew in the wild. 10!

I think they are very beautiful and I look forward each Spring
to seeing them in the forest undergrowth. Right now, seems
to be their peak period.

Look for a few more before it's over.

Thanks, Katy!

Oh my oh my OH MY this is gorgeous Julia! I truly love the lighting, the detail, the wonderful fresh and fragile colors! I don't think I've ever seen a wild iris this color.

What an inspiration you are, can't wait for my wild iris to bloom!

About Doesiedoats

Doesiedoats

I’m a native Oregonian, born in Tillamook and reared in the greater Portland area. After working in the Bay Area in the semi-conductor industry as a Human Resources Representative, my husband and I retired in 1999, returned to Southern Oregon and settled in the Williams area. Photography interests started early on with a Kodak Box camera and later a Kodak 616 given to me by my father, a semi-professional photographer. After many years of film cameras, the advent of digital photography has expanded my interest in the hobby. My two favorite cameras are the Nikon Coolpix P500 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ100. The Pacifica Gardens property has become the preferred subject of my photography because of its natural beauty. I have captured all four seasons over the past twelve years. I’m pleased to be able to share some of those photos with my WU friends. Please visit my web site via the link below.************************************************
