I think the coloring is due to the low light where
the iris was located. I tried later in the day to re-do
the shot, but by then the sun was fully on it and
it was just way too bright. I'll keep trying.

Oh, Julia, I can see why you would look forward to
these beauties every year. Like Katy, I don't think
I've ever seen one this color before. I love the
dark-on-light pattern. A little work of art!

I think they are very beautiful and I look forward each Spring
to seeing them in the forest undergrowth. Right now, seems
to be their peak period.

Oh my oh my OH MY this is gorgeous Julia! I truly love the lighting, the detail, the wonderful fresh and fragile colors! I don't think I've ever seen a wild iris this color.

What an inspiration you are, can't wait for my wild iris to bloom!
