Wolf Moon Rising

Uploaded by: Doesiedoats

Wednesday January 15, 2014

Williams, OR (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Full Wolf Moon – January Amid the cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. Thus, the name for January’s full Moon. Sometimes it was also referred to as the Old Moon, or the Moon After Yule. Some called it the Full Snow Moon, but most tribes applied that name to the next Moon.

Thank you very much, Jon, Gil and Delana.

I had the notion/idea last night and went
down there this evening and waited for the
moon to come over the mountain. Moon rise was
scheduled as 5:10PM. I first saw it come up over
the tip at 5:39 PM. At this point the temperature
had already dropped to 30 degrees. It's going to be
cold tonight.

Thanks again, everybody!
