Williams, OR (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: This the sun sinking into the Western horizon. It is now 6:50PM, two hours from sunset. The smoke is so thick that the sun turned completely red. I got this one shot before the sun was lost in the smoke. Gone!

Thank you Wanda very much.

The fires themselves are all between
19 and 40 miles from our place, so there
is not danger to us currently.

Thank you, Arlene, for your thoughts.

The smoke is somewhat less this morning,
but things always are a little better in
the AM.

Forecast for today: Clear in the morning, then
partly cloudy. High of 95F. Winds from the NNW
at 5 to 10 mph.

Forecast for tonight: Partly cloudy with a chance
of a thunderstorm and a chance of rain. Low of 52F.
Winds less than 5 mph. Chance of rain 20%.

This is not good news. We don't need any new lightening
strikes to add to the problem.

I had no idea there were so many fires, and I sure hope you get some rain soon as that is about the only way they will be contained I think. God bless Arlene

Does remind one of Frodo's and Samwise's entry into Mordor doesn't it?

(Yes, I know - it does put the lie to my visibility limit of 200 yards (Sun - 92 million miles) - but cest la vie.)
