Pacifica Fire 2

Williams, OR (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: One of four helicopters make a water drop on the fire that started about 2PM at the Pacifica Botanical Gardens. Yes, my favorite photo shooting place. You've seen it many times. We lost our internet connection about 3PM and our power about 3:30PM. Power came back on about 1:00 on the morning of the 20th. Internet just came back this afternoon (21 July). We are safe and sound. The fire never got any closer than a quarter mile. It consumed about 500 acres. More shots to follow.

Thanks, Sharon and Wilma.

No individual (to my knowledge) was injured.
Lost one home, a car, several out buildings
and a lot of pasture.

We were so impressed with the way the various
fire departments worked here. They are to be
praised and thanked many times over. They have
averted what could have been a real disaster.

It was a very hot (in more ways than one) weekend and the fire crews went from this fire
on to several others in the area. A few of the
rigs left here and went to the John Day area
to assist in fighting another hot one.

So scary, and so sad, Julia. I do hope that no one is injured by this wildfire. You have done a remarkable job documenting the event - kudos and congratulations on the AC and VIP in this series.

Hi, Lori. Thanks for looking in.

Actually, we were not in any danger. It
was moving South and East of our place.
We are on the West edge of the Pacifica
grounds.

Most of the neighborhood were standing
along the roadside watching the air drops
and billowing smoke.
