Caption: The last Edith's Checkerspot I photographed, was the only one in sight. This morning I counted nearly a dozen. What a treat!

An absolutely incredible shot/capture of the butterflies--with the intensity of color and pattern making almost an abstract picture. I've not seen this species before, but will certainly keep an eye out for them.

Thanks, Dave, for looking in.

Last year we hardly saw any either.
They're making up for it this year.

Fabulous Shot, butterflies are a bit thin on the ground where i live. Probably something to do with last years very wet weather.

About Doesiedoats

Doesiedoats

I’m a native Oregonian, born in Tillamook and reared in the greater Portland area. After working in the Bay Area in the semi-conductor industry as a Human Resources Representative, my husband and I retired in 1999, returned to Southern Oregon and settled in the Williams area. Photography interests started early on with a Kodak Box camera and later a Kodak 616 given to me by my father, a semi-professional photographer. After many years of film cameras, the advent of digital photography has expanded my interest in the hobby. My camera is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ100. The Pacifica Gardens property has become the preferred subject of my photography because of its natural beauty. I have captured all four seasons over the past twelve years. I’m pleased to be able to share some of those photos with my WU friends. Please visit my web site via the link below.************************************************
