Thank you very much Gil and Kat.

Maybe I'm expecting more of myself,
or the camera. Don't know which.

I don't know how this shot could be any better,
Julia! I would be thrilled to have one turn out
like this. I really, really like both of these!

Thanks Kristina!

Kathy: Yes, it does and I do use it,
but it still leaves a lot to be desired.

I just simply have to do some more
experimenting with different Mpixel
settings and ISO settings.

Thanks all. I appreciate your notes and
comments - helpful ones especially.

Julia, if your editing program has a setting for removing digital noise, as mine does, that can help a lot with these low-light shots.

Hi, Kathy!

I'm still practicing too. I am a little
happier with this pair, but still not
satisfied. I still have trouble with the
correct exposure in order to omit all the
digital noise I get. I keep trying different
settings and still have not found the right
one.

I have found, though, that the Panasonic
does better than my Nikon on these shots.

Well, that's something at least.

Both shots are gorgeous, Julia! This is what I so often try to do with moon shots, and so seldom succeed.

About Doesiedoats

Doesiedoats

I’m a native Oregonian, born in Tillamook and reared in the greater Portland area. After working in the Bay Area in the semi-conductor industry as a Human Resources Representative, my husband and I retired in 1999, returned to Southern Oregon and settled in the Williams area. Photography interests started early on with a Kodak Box camera and later a Kodak 616 given to me by my father, a semi-professional photographer. After many years of film cameras, the advent of digital photography has expanded my interest in the hobby. My two favorite cameras are the Nikon Coolpix P500 and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ100. The Pacifica Gardens property has become the preferred subject of my photography because of its natural beauty. I have captured all four seasons over the past twelve years. I’m pleased to be able to share some of those photos with my WU friends. Please visit my web site via the link below.************************************************
