Caption: Now its gusting to 45mph and raining hard, so that was as good as it got. Not much fun for those attending the beach sport and music festival, last year was a washout too.

Very beautiful shot, (both of them)! Congrats! Just noticed you lose some of the width in the tweaked one, so I vote for #1!

Fabulous colour on the distant hills, and the weather is typically British which just makes it all the more interesting.

Thanks everyone for your comments and constructive input, also to the approvers for the AC. My main problem with orientation in this image is caused by my not knowing where horizontal is, the far coast is the receding curve of a 60 mile wide bay, is the far side the same as the horizon? Just posted a tweeked version of this image, see what you think.

It is a great pic and I agree with post #8 re: minor issues, not with subject, but with tweaking it to improve it.

What a treat your picture is! Since it's digital, I might suggest two things you could try. First, the image is tilted about 1 degree counterclockwise. Have you tried rotating the image slightly? I really don't know what is best, but if you have a tilt it should be for some artistic reason. Second, you could experiment with some mild cropping. For example, the line of dark trees and shrubs at the bottom of the picture is important, but perhaps there is a bit too much of it. Anyway, just a few suggestions; the picture is already outstanding as it is.

Looks like magical quiet moments, all it needs is some coffee and a smile to make it perfect.

Like the layers of light and shadows, great shot

About Cowgazer

Cowgazer

I am Peter, brought up in the center of Manchester, UK. But was a square peg in a round hole there, worked 33 years as stockman in dairy farming then made redundant. Luckily got a job managing a garden nursery for a couple of years, but had to leave as tenancy came to an end. Couldn't find work so relocated to Wales and am now a self-employed gardener, great move, good things come out of hard times. Digital tech has made photography affordable to me and I love it, compliments my walking and Birdwatching. At present on a steep learning curve, new things are always good, stretch your mind and keep you sane-ish.
