Hotchkiss, CO (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: One of the big, old cottonwood came crashing down this year down in the draw next to the pond. The guys had to drag it up the hill with the bulldozer so they could cut it up for firewood. the path you see is one Bud has been working on so we can walk through the draw. The pond in the draw is one that he dug out, fed by a year-round spring. I'll show you that, too. In summer he uses the water to help irrigate, using a pump.

Such a gorgeous spot richly colored with the brilliance of autumn foliage !
You are lucky in more ways than one to have such a gorgeous "oasis" on your farm!
Love this beautiful scene you captured so wonderfully , Kat !

What a great mix of colors, lines, and textures - even without the snake, you're very lucky! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Peg! No snakes in this photo, really!:-)
Just parts of the fallen tree and other broken
branches. The previous owner did no clean up in
this area at all. Bud has made the pond and the
path and is clearing out some of the old dead
wood. It's wild and really pretty down there,
and no snakes that I know of!
