How To Shower Like An Owl

Littleton, CO (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: They held their wings down to their sides, like arms, and then when they were good and wet the flapped, fluffed, stretched, shook and shimmied. It was fun to watch. A second title choice for this shot was What Do You Get When You Cross An Owl With A Really BIG Moth?

Yes, Linda, their wings are HUGE! What gets me
is that when the fly past you, you don't hear a
sound..nothing. They are silent. I have been
startled by them a couple times. They are like
beautiful gliders!

A mowl or an oth, I guess......:) It DOES make me think of a moth, now that you mention it! GREAT capture, Kat. I don't realize how big their wings are sometimes. 10! What an incredible series and to have them in your own backyard! Way to go, girl!

LOL Hey, it was a long time coming! We had a
little yesterday, too. It would amaze me if we got
an inch, total, but I loved it. Cleaned up the
air...and the owls! Thanks, Lori!
