Owlets In The Rain

Uploaded by: ColoradoKat

Sunday July 7, 2013

Littleton, CO (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: We got some rain today. It was nice...not long enough, but I am grateful for every drop. When it started to rain, the owlets landed in the dying Russion Olive tree, which I think of now as The Owl Tree, and basically took showers! They dropped their wings to their sides, like arms, and got really wet, then danced, fluffed, and flapped and then did it all again. Remember, this is through a window and raining, but it was so cool, I had to share! The third one was there before, too, but flew off.

Thank you, Shirley and Linda! Yes, Shirley, there
is a third and he was out there at first, but by
the time I grabbed the camera, he was gone. I
guess he'd either had his shower or figured he
didn't need one.:-)

Rain Dance! Nice shot! Thank you for sharing.
Now are there only two or is there a third
one. I can't remember. They have grown so
much and are getting prettier by the day.

It was so cool, Heidrun! After the bottom owl finished his little circle dance, the one on
top did his own version and I will post that,
too, because they just seemed to be having such
a wonderful experience in the rain!
