How about that... I would have never pictured
them in a tree like that! I hear the owls in
the same woods area as the pileated woodpeckers
but can't see them. Fantastic shot and love
your title!

The owls have always loved that tree. The poor
old tree is being killed by squirrels who peel
the bark off, one branch at a time. If it weren't
for this tree, I would get very few shots of the
owls. I'll never be the one who says to cut it
down, that's for sure! The other birds like
it, too, but not when the owls are around.

This bare tree must have something special for them to have chosen it. The are feeling protected by all the tangled twigs and branches. On the other hand it`s great for you to be able to see , watch and photograph them.
