Evergreen, CO (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: ...through another Winter. This old cabin keeps on keeping on in the middle of Elk Meadow in Evergreen. As you can see, there is not much green showing up yet, but it won't be long. Things are warming up and there has been some moisture lately, so the grass should be turning green soon.

Thank you for your comment, Hypatia001!
This old barn is located in what is called Elk
Meadows Park, which is in Evergreen. The barn
is from the early 1900's when this area was
ranch land. I don't know what happened to the
house, and if there were any trees around it,
they, too, are long gone. Now this park is used
for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing and the
like. There are times when you can see
hundreds of elk in this meadow at one time.

If it's a barn where's the house? It's Beautiful by the way. There is absolutely no cover around the place. The only reason I can think of for that is security. Is that common? I mean otherwise why wouldn't you plant a shelterbelt.?
