Deer-ly Departed

Hotchkiss, CO (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: We went to the cemetery to put Holiday decorations on Bud's family graves and saw this guy and a doe. When we left, they were napping in the shade. He did look up at us but made no attempt to leave. I don't think I've ever been to this cemetery when there weren't deer there, too.

Lots of grass to eat, quiet - same reason they act like this at my house. :)

Thanks, Donna and Kathy for your comments.
I think they just like the quiet and the fact that
nobody bothers them...especially during hunting
season! In the summer, there are nice shade trees
and you can see as many as a dozen, napping in the
shade.

Curious! Wonder what draws them there, and then they seem nearly tame? Deer don't behave like that in our neck of the woods; I rarely see bucks at all.
