You can almost here the big bull elk.."Seriously? This guy is going to keep playing with me standing right here?" I have to admit, I wondered about that, myself. Every year, there are a couple incidents where someone comes out on the losing end of encounters with a bull elk. I was hoping I would not have any of THOSE pictures to show you!

Most people run, at least thats what we saw in Estes Park; we watched a group of students run from the park when the elk strolled in - they were studying, they left their books and coats, everything on the ground and just ran for it.

Wow, I'd let the Elk have that Golf Course!
Great capture Kat, glad you didn't get any of the
bad pics that could have been.

It's not real smart to get too relaxed around
them, that's for sure. They are wild and they
are a bit moody at times and they have great big
antlers that poke holes in soft things like
humans. Not good. But they sure are beautiful
to see close up like this. I stayed within a short
distance of the door to the restaurant and was
fully prepared to duck in there if they decided
to take over the patio! LOL

I know nothing about golf aside from the fact
that the courses are pretty and this restaurant
serves good lunches!

I don't know, Heidrun...seems he was thinking much
differently from what I was thinking! People tend
to get a little casual sometimes, I think. You
see people get out of their cars and try to pose
with the elk..crazy! I keep a respectful distance,
myself. I have no desire to look like swiss cheese!
