Caption: Dug the sweet potatoes Thursday; got about half a bushel from 3 hills. Would have been more except for rat activity. Nevertheless, we have plenty for our own use and to share. Will be having sweet potato pies just as soon as we're finished with the apple crisp. *BURP*

Thanks, Peter! I'm not sure these would grow satisfactorily in your climate. They prefer long hot summers to do well. Your local experts could tell you better than I. Good luck!

Think I will try growing these next year, but I will need to ask an expert first. My speciality at the moment is oven roast veg and sweet Potato is great in the mix, its only recently become widely available in our area, so I enjoy being a pioneer and must have a go. Hope you enjoy your pie it sounds great.

Thanks for commenting, Delana and Kim! Our favorite two ways to prepare them are an oven casserole with brown sugar and pecan topping, or in sweet potato pie. Not a calorie in either one, I assure you! ^)^

There's nothing left in the garden now but the last of the peppers and lima beans; won't take long to get those in. Had another frost this morning, so maybe I won't bother even with that.

I ought to have added that I loaded this without editing. Couldn't improve on Mother Nature and Father God, LOL!
