I'm not sure whether there were more last year, Joan, or whether they just showed up better because the leaves had already died down. If there truly are fewer this year, it may have something to do with the weather; we did not get as much hot weather this summer as most years.

LOL Shirley! It struck me how easy it would have been just to load one or two of these into my car, but I wouldn't do that... In fact, when a car came out of a nearby driveway, I asked the driver whose pumpkins they were (not his, he named a commercial outfit), and brandished my camera just so he would know I wasn't going to take anything but pictures. Thanks for commenting!
