Thank you, Gil, for taking the time to look and comment. I am not sure who was originally responsible for placing the monument. The school itself has long since been closed and most of the buildings torn down. The gymnasium and cafeteria remain, with the latter leased to the Ruritans for their meetings, for a nominal sum.

How Great is this! That someone, or group would erect this Memorial for these Brave Men. Likely a School group.

Thank you, Wilma! Even though I'm not originally from this area and don't know the names on this stone, still, WWII was fought by all our fathers, and it's my own I remember the best and memorialize.
