Thanks, Mindi! I've forgotten the name of this rose, but I bought it and most of the others I have from a lady who makes a business of starting roses from cuttings instead of grafting them. She uses ones that have no plant patents on them, thus, mostly old-fashioned roses that have good scent. I've been meaning to drop by her place as soon as I can. It's well worth the trip to photograph.

PS I looked up the name of this rose in my old records; it is Winter Sunset.

HI KATHY!!! This is so sweet!! One of my FAVE colors also!! I hope it's fragrance is as heady as it looks!!! Wish I had a huge rose garden!! One of these days!! I would love to try my hand at growing some Damask types,,or very heavily fragranced ones for scent-crafting....

Thanks, Arlene and Betsy! Wish you could come pick some of the real roses from about 5 surviving bushes I have around my garden.

Oh, my! I will accept it, happily as a Mom and Grandmom.
Thanks, Kathy, for the ID. I am only a so-so gardener, but having looked at so many catalogs over the years the latin names began to stick. The brain's memory can be amazing. There are days when I might not remember the name of "this flower".

Thanks, Duane and Katy! Katy, you don't know how many roses I've killed... this is one of the few survivors. Has to be tough to grow and thrive at my place, no kidding!
