Westfield, NC (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: I said I wasn't going to disturb the bluebird box any more, but on Friday I took a peek, expecting to see them gone already. I was a bit surprised to see three little faces looking back at me! Maybe they're waiting for the predicted rain to pass? 18 days old.

Thank you, Karen! You'll be happy to know that the bluebirds are adding more nesting material to the box, preparatory to laying more eggs, and that the phoebes, whose nest was robbed I think by crows, are building a new nest in a safer place where they were for years before and never got robbed there. Hope I can soon have more pictures of nest eggs and babies.

Kathy---your stuff has been so colorful I just love it all. Especially love the baby birds, and so glad you shared them with us. The mothers day rose, and the wisteria.... ahh. such blooming beauty. Please keep them coming. Karen

I am finally getting some Iris to bloom, so the camera is ready, and I am hoping I get some pretty ones.

I think the survival of these is pretty well assured, Shirley! I just checked now (Saturday) and they have all left the nest. Flying, I have no doubt.
