Pilot Mountain, NC (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: I had given up thinking I was going to be able to photograph any saucer magnolias this year after a hard freeze destroyed all the blossoms near my home. However, I found some late-opening ones in Pilot Mountain that had been spared.

An unusual spring to be sure, Liliane! I hope things even out for both of us soon. Thanks for commenting!

Thank you, pictonite! It seems like practically every year these blossoms are frosted, which is why I won't plant these otherwise beautiful trees. Glad some came through for me and that you have a chance to see a bit of spring in advance of your own season!

Beauties! Straight into my favourites. Thank you for posting, and bringing the sights of spring...still waiting up north in Ontario Canada for it to start here.
