Pilot Mountain, NC (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Even though the views are still great at Pilot Mountain, the evidence of October's fire is everywhere. These pine trees should not be this color, and I fear they are fatally damaged.

Thank you, Mark; yes, it is, despite the damage, some of which will be ameliorated and some of which will not, at least not for a long time. This was the result of a "controlled burn" getting OUT of control.
