Thank you, Wanda and Phatkhat! There is some interesting geology of these outliers to the Blue Ridges -- Pilot Mountain, Sauratown, and Hanging Rock, three in a row. You can see the other two in some of my earlier closeups of the dome itself.

Thanks for your comment, Parshall! I have noticed some new features in the photo galleries today, plus I had trouble signing in this afternoon and had to submit a ticket before being able to do so, so I don't doubt the techies are working on the site and that is probably what explains the difficulties you had...
