Isaac Bands?

Westfield, NC (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Clouds increased all afternoon Tuesday, with thundershowers late in the day, breaking up at sunset just enough to catch a glimpse of the sky at sundown. I believe this is part of the same hurricane band that soaked Florida and worked its way up the eastern seaboard. We got half an inch of welcome rain.

Thanks for your further comment, Arkansas! This very large storm will be felt in much of the center of this country over the next few days. I do remember one storm some years back, don't remember which one now, might have been Camille, that remained intact right up into Canada.

That's true, Arkansas, the center of the hurricane hit NOLA, but the broader storm has been exceedingly large, and one very large band soaked Florida and pushed up along the eastern seaboard into the Carolinas. Gone now (Thursday), but I believe this actually WAS part of Isaac.

I really like the photo, but I don't think those are from Isaac, since he's in the middle of Louisiana and headed for Arkansas right now. Nowhere near the "eastern seaboard" until next week sometime... but the photo is lovely. :D

I hope you do too, Eileen -- your part of the country sure needs it even more than we do! Thanks for commenting!

Wonderful vivid colors in the sky!
Hoping we might benefit from some of the rain from Isaac way up here, too.

Thank you, Jim; glad you like it! It didn't look as though there was going to be any sunset at all, but for just a few brief moments the clouds broke up enough to let this much light through.
