Thanks Eileen, Kat, and Katy for the comments! Kat, I think what you are seeing is what we call "the point". There is a channel here that leads in to the boat ramp, then you have the river. We use to have a rope tied onto a tree on that point that we'd swing out and drop into the river. That is, when we weren't jumping off the paddlewheel of the old Mary Woods boat that is no longer here or jumping off the bluff bank. My mom would have had a heart attack if she knew everything we did, lol.
