Fishing spiders, so called because they live near water. Dolomedes species. Link

Thanks again for the great comments! Kathy I'm going to have to look up that Fisher Spider, never heard of that and Wanda they're not venomous, or won't kill you anyway, but they can bite. The one that I get my nerve will probably be the one that bites.

Delana, tiny little spiders I have no trouble with. The bigger and hairier they are, the more they give me the cold shudders! I could photograph one, no prob. Touch it, NO!!! ^)^

PS Found a great big fisher spider on one of my shoes at my bedside once, the closest thing we have to tarantulas in NC. I trapped it under a glass and took it outside. But just watching the thing walk gave me shudders, just as your video did! Keep those things on the other side of the computer screen, LOL!

Thanks again for all the great comments and Thank You to the Approvers for the AC. This little guy was about as big as my hand. I always said, the next one I find, I am going to let it crawl onto my hand for a photo but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Maybe another day. Below is a short video I took, it wouldn't stay still. I'm out the door now, in search of another one, they are on the move this time of the year.

Haha..I thought this was a cool shot of driftwood
when I saw the thumbnail. Guess not! I wouldn't
want this in my house, but it looks kind of cute
in your photo. Has a 'haircut' like the early
Beatles. I can almost hear it singing "I want to
hold your hands...all eight of them!"
Congratulations on your Blue!

Cool! For some reason I'm not as scared as Tarantulas and the bigger spiders then I am the littler spiders, I've pet a tarantula before. They're awesome. c:
