Always enjoy your pictures, since I used to live and vacation in that area.

Common names for plants are tricky. Here in the South, we have the "true" pampas grass, originally from Argentina. Up there, I suspect you have cord grass, most likely an invasive species from Europe. But it still looks pretty!
